One of the best things about a professionally installed garage floor coating is how little it asks of you. NC Garage Floors uses premium-grade coating systems specifically chosen for durability and ease of care. Follow these simple guidelines and your floor will stay beautiful for decades.
For routine cleaning, mist the surface lightly with water and use a soft-foam squeegee to pull water — along with any dirt, dust, or debris — toward a drain or garage door. The squeegee method works because your coating surface is non-porous and smooth, so contaminants sit on top rather than penetrating. Most everyday cleaning takes less than five minutes.
If you prefer to use a cleaning product, choose a non-detergent cleaner such as Fabuloso. Avoid any cleaner that contains citrus, vinegar, or harsh acids — these can dull the finish over time. Never use soap-based cleaners; they leave a residue that makes the floor slippery when wet.
Your coating is highly resistant to automotive fluids, household chemicals, and most common garage substances. If a spill occurs, wipe it up promptly — not because it will damage the coating, but because wet floors are a slip hazard. For stubborn stains, a diluted non-detergent cleaner and a soft-bristle brush will handle anything.
Avoid dragging sharp metal objects directly across the floor — steel toolbox feet, motorcycle side stands, and moving equipment can scratch any coating. Use rubber feet, floor mats, or furniture pads under heavy stationary equipment. NC Garage Floors coating systems are tested to withstand hot tire pick-up — one of the most common failure points for inferior epoxy products. Your floor is covered by our limited lifetime warranty, so if you ever have a concern about the condition of your coating, contact us directly.
Most floors installed by NC Garage Floors never need recoating. If you notice any change in gloss, texture, or adhesion, call us before attempting any DIY repair. We can evaluate whether a spot touch-up, a light buff, or a fresh topcoat is the right solution — and because we installed your floor, we know exactly what is on it.
